LONG CHAIN-BRANCHED ETHYLENE-ALPHA OLEFIN COPOLYMER

PURPOSE: An ethylene-alpha olefin copolymer is provided to ensure narrower molecular weight distribution, as compared to a conventional low density polyethylene (LDPE), thereby ensuring excellent mechanical and physical properties. CONSTITUTION: An ethylene-alpha olefin copolymer has (a) a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.5 or above and less than 3.5 (1.5<=Mw/Mn<3.5), (b) 3 to 5 long chain branches per 1000 carbons along the copolymer main chain, and (c) density of 0.860~0.900 g/cc. The ethylene-alpha olefin copolymer is prepared by contacting the catalyst composition comprising the transition metal compound of formula 1, ethylene, and alpha olefin by a continuous solution polymerization process.
