A wind or tidal turbine blade attachment for connecting a blade root to a pitch bearing or one blade portion to another comprises a blade 6 support portion 8, an insert 10 having a stud, a boss or neck 18 or threaded bore 20 to mount a bolt 38 for attaching to another structure and a mounting 24 for attaching the insert to the support portion. The bolt or stud passes through the mounting to the insert. The mounting comprises a U section strap moulding with a central portion 30 extending over a face of the insert and legs 26, 28 bonded either to surfaces of the support portion on opposite sides of the insert or to each other (Fig. 17) and then to the support portion. The attachment may be annular and the mounting legs may taper in thickness. There may be a single annular insert with multiple studs/bores or multiple inserts which may be interlinked. |
