PURPOSE: A broadcast signal receiving apparatus and a method thereof are provided to efficiently manage preference channels by managing preference channels group by group. CONSTITUTION: A tuner unit receives a selected broadcasting signal among received broadcasting signals(200). A user input unit selects a channel among a plurality of stored preference channel groups of a memory(210). If the user selects a preference channel group, the control unit presently registers a currently watching broadcasting channel in the selected preference channel group(220).
