METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC OPTICAL FOCUS CONTROL IN A MULTI-FOCAL IMAGE

PURPOSE: A method for automatically controlling optical focus in a multi-focal image is provided to quickly and accurately calculate focus according to the optical axis of an interesting object from an image obtained from a multi-focal object. CONSTITUTION: Images of a subject are obtained by fixed optical axis intervals when a user moves between a camera and the subject. The sharpness of the obtained images is calculated. An object of interest is recognized by the obtained images through a pattern recognition technique. The focus of the camera is controlled by controlling the optical axis distance between the camera and the subject. Images of the object of interest and the background are obtained when the images are obtained.
