<p>Portable paper making apparatus comprises a housing containing a shredder 1c, a first chamber 1d for receiving shredded material from the shredder, a water input 1f, and a second chamber 1i in which the shredded material and water are blended to a slurry. A permeable sheet 1j is arranged to be raised through the slurry to deposit a layer of pulp on its surface. A device 1p compresses the layer of pulp on the permeable sheet to form a sheet of paper. At least one of the shredder, blender, separator and compressor is manually operable and all are operable such that material is moved from one to the next as the apparatus is operated. Decorations may be manually added to the pulp layer prior to compression. Preferably shredded paper falls from the first into the second chamber. A transfer sheet and inversion mechanism may invert the compressed pulp layer. The paper thickness may be set on the machine and the required number of sheets to be shredded may be indicated to the operator. A balance may be provided to weigh waste paper.</p> |
