<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter adjusting a light modulation degree and easily obtaining the optimum light modulation degree corresponding to an installation place and an installation environment. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmitter comprises: a laser diode 9 for converting electric signals to optical signals; a light modulation degree adjustment means 5 for adjusting the attenuation rate of signals inputted to the laser diode; a bias current detection part 12 for detecting the bias current of the laser diode; an arithmetic processing part 13 for controlling the attenuation rate of the light modulation degree adjustment means so as to be the light modulation degree set on the basis of the detected bias current; and an OMI setting part for inputting the setting value of the light modulation degree to the arithmetic processing part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
