A method and apparatus and disclosure for forming small gas bubbles in a liquid, and for creating effective material transfer between gas and liquid in large tanks or basins. Part of the liquid is made to flow through a stationary aerator unit in which a pumping member causes liquid flow in the flow channel, and simultaneously gas is fed into the liquid through small apertures, with a diameter of less than 2 mm, or through a porous surface, provided at the bottom of the flow channel downstream of the pumping member. |
