PURPOSE:To accurately indicate the time for replacing a soiled cleaning roller used in a fixer. CONSTITUTION:A photo sensor 50 for detecting the color of the surface of a cleaning roller 40 is disposed in such a manner as pointing at the cleaning roller 40. As the surface of the cleaning roller 40 is soiled with toner, the photo sensor 50 detects the color of the surface and a photo signal indicating the color is sent to the color identifying portion 55 of a discriminating means 51 and the color identifying portion 55 converts the photo signal to an electric signal and the color of the surface of the cleaning roller 40 is identified as being soiled according to the electric signal. A controller 56 controls a display means 52 in response to this identification signal and the display means 52 in turn displays the time for replacing the cleaning roller 40. |
