A ladder anchor 10a is suitable for integration in a wall structure (18, fig 3) and comprises a connection portion 12 and an anchor portion 14. In use, the connection portion 12 extends outwards from the external face of the wall structure for attachment to a ladder and the anchor portion 14 extends perpendicularly from the connection portion 12 behind the wall structure. The connection portion may include a hook, loop or hole (16, fig 1). In a second aspect, a method of constructing a wall includes laying a course of bricks, embedding the ladder anchor in a layer of mortar and then laying a further course of bricks on top of the layer of mortar. |
