PURPOSE: A method and a device for determining a mobility state in a wireless communication system are provided to prevent unnecessary reselection when a terminal enters an area in which a micro cell and a macro cell are mixed. CONSTITUTION: A terminal obtains a mobility determination parameter and a reselection scaling parameter. If the signal quality of a serving cell is lower than a threshold value, the terminal measures the signal quality of an adjacent cell. If the signal quality of the serving cell is higher than the threshold value, a reselection timer starts. If the signal quality of the adjacent cell is maintained during reselection, the terminal reselects a corresponding cell(S1420). The terminal determines a mobility state according to cell size(S1430).
