In the storage system performing remote copy, when a storage apparatus detects a failure in its disk drive, a storage apparatus capable of providing a logical unit that can be a replacement for the logical unit affected by the failure in the disk drive is searched for based on storage apparatus performance, and a redundancy configuration is reestablished using a new logical unit the found storage apparatus provides.
