PURPOSE: A dimmer for an AC light emitting device is provided to effectively obtain a dimming function by controlling an effective voltage of AC input power through a pulse width modulation control. CONSTITUTION: A switching unit(120) transmits AC power to an AC light emitting device according to a switching control signal. A current detector(160) detects the current flowing in the AC light emitting device. A controller(140) outputs a dimming control signal for controlling the dimming of the AC light emitting device and a switching control signal. A voltage detector(150) outputs a voltage detection signal to determine the voltage variation of the AC power. A power supply unit(130) performs a rectification function and a voltage conversion function.
