Variable magnification system for radiographic and tomographic inspection (1) in industrial applications, which system is composed of an ionizing radiation source (2), a linear array of elements for detecting scintillation (3), electronic cards for acquiring the signal from the detector (4) and an acquisition control card (5), an interface for emptying the digital data into a computer (6), a card for capturing data (18), two vertical benches which can move in a linear manner and have two supporting means for the source and the detector (7,8), a rotational bench with a support plate for the objects to be inspected (9,10), a horizontal linear bench (11) placed between the radiation source and the detector, and a PID control module (12). The horizontal bench (11) makes it possible to vary the distance between the object to be inspected and the source, the magnification factor in the acquired images. Method for controlling the generation, acquisition, reconstruction and display of data, which method is associated with the system (1).
