The wheelchair has front wheels (8) pivotingly mounted in a yoke (9) mounted on a front part of a frame (2) for pivoting around a vertical axis. A seat (3) has a base (10) with a rear part articulated on the frame around an axis parallel to an axis of the wheels. The seat has a front portion connected to the frame by a toggle lever (16) maintaining the base in a horizontal position and maintaining a front part of the seat in a folded position against the frame. Rear wheels (15) are mounted on a chair structure (1) in a removable manner. The seat has a backrest (24) folded against the base.
