The device has a support tube (2) formed in a sliding part of a guide pin (1) and equipped with a positioning plate (23). A graduated rod (3) is slide relative to the support tube and parallel to a longitudinal axis. A ruler (33) is equipped with a slider (34) that is fitted with a needle (35) for locating in center of a femur head. The ruler is determined between the center of the femur head and longitudinal axis of the femur. A reamer (11) is formed in a lower part of a cylindrical cap (13), and the plate is provided with an attachment unit. An independent claim is also included for a distance measuring method.
