<p>A push rivet which is shaped to make it difficult for foreign matter to enter therein when a member to be mounted is secured comprises a rivet body which is composed of at least a flange portion provided with an insertion hole, a connected leg portion consisting of a pair of legs which project from the flange portion toward the front end side and which are connected to each other on the front end side, protection pieces which are provided to project from the pair of legs of the connected leg portion into a space formed between the pair of legs to prevent foreign matter from entering, at least one pair of split leg portions which project from the flange portion toward the front end side so as to form slits between the connected leg portion and the split leg portions, bulged portions which project inwardly from the connected leg portion and the split leg portions and which have tapered surfaces inclined inwardly toward the tips; and a pin which is composed of at least a head fitted to the flange portion, a shaft portion which projects from the head toward the front end side and which is provided with a cavity in the shaft portion, corner portions which are provided on the side surfaces of the shaft portion and which are slid and fitted in the slits, and recesses which engage with the respective bulged portions of the leg portions so that the connected leg portion is expanded outwardly.</p> |
