METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EDITING ENCODED DATA, PROGRAM, AND MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein, when re-encoding processing is performed in an edition process of H.264 encoded data, an enormous amount of processing load and degradation of image quality occurs, and it is necessary to restore a reference relationship among pictures that is collapsed by edition without performing high-load processing such as motion prediction or DCT conversion in order to suppress the processing load and prevent the occurrence of the degradation of image quality.

SOLUTION: This device for editing H.264 encoded data includes: a restoration step of restoring a reference relationship that is collapsed by conversion of an I-picture to an IDR I-picture by rewriting a field in a slice header; and a conversion step of converting a reference picture index field located in a macroblock layer to meet an index of a reference picture list after conversion to the IDR I-picture. This program and this medium are also provided.
