PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the entry of dust into a housing by sufficiently sealing the opening of the housing. SOLUTION: In a linear motion device, a strip sealing band 23 has length of riding over the top surface of a table and closing an opening 20, a sealing band guide section contacts the strip sealing band and bends it when the strip sealing band rides over the top surface of the table and generates an urging force which causes the strip sealing band in the area not riding over the top surface of the table to be fixed to an attaching member, and a wiper which seals a gap between the top surfaces of the table cover 16 and a side cover 8 and the strip sealing band when the strip sealing band rides over the top surface of the table.
