PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, which simplifies configurations and downsizes in the printer that prints by holding papers between a printing head and a platen roller. SOLUTION: The printer performs printing on paper with the printing head by holding the paper between the printing head 112 and the platen roller 114. The printer includes a paper guide block 113 which guides the paper to the position between the printing head and the platen roller, and has a U-groove that engages a rotational axis of the platen roller, a frame 111 that fixes the paper guide block, and a biasing member that is provided between the printing head and the frame, and that biases the printing head so as to press the printing head to the paper guide block. The biasing member has a claw that engages the rotational axis of the platen roller when the rotational axis of the platen roller engages the U-groove of the paper guide block.
