PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation system reducing power consumption without any deteriorating convenience of a user. SOLUTION: A control part 11 specifies a road L currently traveled by the own vehicle having the car navigation system mounted thereon from current position information obtained from a current position detection part 12 and map information stored in a storage part 13. When the control part 11 determines that the number of the travel times of the specified road L is equal to a prescribed threshold or above, the control part 11 turns off a power supply part 16, and shuts off the power supply to a display part 15.
