PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in a recording and reproducing device having a plurality of devices. SOLUTION: A first device has a connection part for a host device and transfers data to/from the host device. Also, a second device shares a temporary recording region with the first device, and performs data-transfer between the first device and the second device. When the second device transfers data to/from the host device, the device uses the temporary recording region shared with the first device and the connection part of the first device.
