PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram recording apparatus and a program, obtaining a target diffracted light intensity of diffraction light by recording a hologram while correcting the diffraction efficiency. SOLUTION: The hologram recording apparatus is equipped with: a light irradiating means which irradiates an optical recording medium with signal light and reference light for recording a hologram in the medium, and irradiates the medium with one of the signal light and the reference light as reproduction light for reproducing a hologram recorded in an optical recording medium; a measuring means which measures, after recording a hologram in an optical recording medium, the intensity of diffracted light obtained on reproducing the recorded hologram; and a controlling means which controls the light irradiating means in such a manner that, when the measured value of intensity of diffracted light is less than a set value predetermined as a target value, the same hologram is recorded as superimposed on the recorded hologram and that the intensity of diffracted light on reproducing the superimposed recorded hologram comes close to the set value.
