PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish an information processing apparatus which performs control to fix an increase/decrease width of a volume setting value to be set in an opposed terminal in accordance with one time of transmission of a volume setting command when transmitting the volume setting command to the opposed terminal using short-range wireless communication. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus designates a volume setting value to be set in an opposed terminal and transmits a volume setting command to the opposed terminal. In the information processing apparatus, the volume setting value of the opposed terminal is stored in the apparatus itself. When an operating means for changing a volume step by step is operated, the volume setting value to be reported to the opposed terminal is set by adding or subtracting a fixed value to or from the volume setting value of the opposed terminal being stored in the apparatus itself, and the volume setting command is transmitted to the opposed terminal.
