This invention is concerning a door structure for a railway vehicle having advantages to conventional door structures. The door structure for a railway vehicle is characterized by including a door frame having a hinge on one side portion, a door main body that is pivotally openable and closable in lateral direction and in a forward direction, and provided with a window and a first footboard portion covering the window in a forward full open state of a door, and an extension footboard portion that is folded to be storable on a vehicle interior side of the door main body in a close state of a door, and provided with an opening portion for window positioned on the vehicle interior side of the window in a close state of a door, and a second footboard portion covering the opening portion for window in a forward full open state of a door.
