Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for providing augmented reality, to a server for same, and to a portable terminal. According to one embodiment of the present invention, wherein information is overlaid on a captured image in a server providing augmented reality, which comprises: a server communication unit that links to a portable terminal; and a server control unit that receives selection menu information from the portable terminal, compares prestored, related location-based information with the received selection menu information, generates first menu information data that extracts data coinciding with the received selection menu information, and transmits the generated first menu information data to the portable terminal, wherein the server control unit generates, as the first menu information data, only a portion of menus from among a plurality of menus included in the related location-based information that coincides with the selection menu information. According to one embodiment of the present invention, as points of interest on the selection menu can be directly integrated with acquired image information and thus outputted, augmented reality can be quickly implemented. |
