An electronic device comprises an input receiving part that receives an instruction input for instructing a selection of one of a plurality of operative modes; a functional part (342) that has the plurality of operative modes, the power consumptions of which are different from one another, and that operates in an operative mode designated by the instruction input received by the input receiving part; a storing part (16) that stores beforehand a reference power consumption value, the power consumption values of the plurality of operative modes, and a conversion factor; and a control part (15) that calculates an increment or decrement of greenhouse gas emission by multiplying the difference between the power consumption value corresponding to an operative mode designated by the instruction input and the reference power consumption value by the conversion factor and that further causes a displaying part to display a decrement of the greenhouse gas emission if the power consumption value of the operative mode designated by the instruction input is smaller than the reference power consumption value and/or to display an increment of the greenhouse gas emission or a zero-value thereof instead if the power consumption value of the operative mode designated by the instruction input is greater than the reference power consumption value.
