<p>A flapping flight capable robot comprises a body (11), the longitudinal direction of which is oriented in a forward and backward direction; a left wing (14) and a right wing (15), having a left front frame (12) and a right front frame (13), respectively, the base ends of which are rotatably connected to the front side of the body (11); and a flapping means (24) for flapping the left wing (14) and the right wing (15). The flapping means (24) has 1) a crank member (17) which is arranged on the body (11), with the axis being oriented in the forward and backward direction, and which is rotated in one direction by a rotating drive source (16), 2) a first crank rod (20) which rotatably connects a first fulcrum portion (18) of the crank member (17) and a left connection portion (19) provided on the left front frame (12), and 3) a second crank rod (23) which rotatably connects a second fulcrum portion (21) of the crank member (17) and a right connection portion (22) provided on the right front frame (13). The period of time for the raising operation of the left wing (14) and the right wing (15) is shorter than the period of time for the lowering operation of the left wing (14) and the right wing (15) thereby generating a lifting force.</p> |
