The reflector has a retroreflective reflector element (10) including a reflecting section (16) assigned to a front surface (12). Light beam (26) incident in the reflector element from a preset direction via the front surface arrives at the reflecting section, and is reflected by the reflecting section to the front surface. The light beam is emitted from the reflector element into the preset direction over the front surface. The reflector element includes an optically active body formed from a massive, transparent material i.e. polymethyl methacrylate, and is colored in a partial region.
