The device has a deceleration unit designed to decelerate drop of an article via a drum interior. The deceleration unit includes an endless conveyor (EF) i.e. conveyor belt, that is attached into the drum interior. The conveyor is arranged such that the article that is present outside an area (IB) enclosed by the conveyor freely and downwardly falls if the article is present adjacent or below the enclosed area and viewed in a direction of gravitational force. The conveyor hinders the free dropping of the article.
