COOLING STRUCTURE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure of an internal combustion engine, sufficiently cooling a region between bores and improving cooling performance of cylinder bores even when a spacer is moved to approach and separate from the cylinder bores inside a water jacket. SOLUTION: The cooling structure 1 is equipped with: a water jacket spacer 10 stored in the water jacket 6 to surround cylinder liners 3a-3c and partitioning the inside of the water jacket 6 into an inner peripheral passage 12 positioned on the side of the cylinder liners 3a-3c and an outer peripheral passage 13; and constricted sections 15a-15d in the region 14 between bores of the cylinder bores 4a-4c adjacent to the cylinder bores 4a-4c. A projecting piece 19 for guiding cooling water flowing in the inner peripheral passage 12 to the constricted section 15a is provided to the water jacket spacer 10. A cutout portion 19a communicating the outer peripheral passage 13 with the inner peripheral passage 12 is formed at the downstream side in the flowing direction of the cooling water of the projecting piece 19.
