PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary tool for pole erection work cut in an optional length and buried beforehand in a place to install a columnar structure such as an electric pole, cuttable without a cutting edge escaping from the cutting position of a side face and easily adjustable in length according to the dimension and shape of a lower end of the columnar structure in use. SOLUTION: The auxiliary tool 10 used for pole erection work of erecting the electric pole in a desired position is formed in cylindrical shape larger than the lower end of the pole, and installed in an excavated hole and then placed in a state of inserting the lower end of the pole inside to carry out backfilling between itself and the lower end of the pole. The auxiliary tool 10 is formed in cylindrical shape dimensioned to insert therein the lower end with length and thickness corresponding to the type of the pole, and the cylindrical side face is formed with cutting grooves 11 every length according to the type of the columnar structure.
