PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintering furnace which can produce a metal-bonded grinding wheel having a long life. SOLUTION: A fired product is cooled in a high-pressure inert gas. When the inert gas is compressed, its density increases, and collision frequency between gas molecules increases, consequently its thermal conductivity increases. Namely, the high-pressure inert gas plays a role of a heat carrier that efficiently transfers the potential heat of the fired product to a cooling jacket. When the fired product is cooled at a high temperature dropping rate, the generation of brittle aggregated lumps can be suppressed. As a result, the life of a grinding wheel can be prolonged.
