The subject matter disclosed herein relates to an imaging device having a small form factor and a mounting method. The imaging device includes: a lens assembly including one or more lenses; an image sensor receiving light from the lens assembly; and an actuator adjusting the position of the lens assembly, the actuator includes at least one magnet and at least one coil for produce an electromagnetic force, wherein at least a portion of the actuator is disposed between the lens assembly and the image sensor, the actuator is mounted on the image sensor, the surface area of the actuator does not extend substantially beyond the surface area of the image sensor, and the coil and the magnet are arranged substantially orthogonal to the optical axis of the lens assembly.
