摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for online dynamic reliability assessment and energy margin calculation of a practical power system. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method of determining the stability of an unstable equilibrium point (UEP) computed by using the BCU method. In this method, a UEP computed using the BCU method is selected to obtain a test vector X<SB>test</SB>for X<SP>UEP</SP>of the selected UEP using a following equation: X<SP>test</SP>=X<SB>s</SB><SP>post</SP>+α(X<SP>UEP</SP>-X<SB>s</SB><SP>post</SP>) where X<SB>s</SB><SP>post</SP>is SEP,αis a positive real number close to 1 (0.99, for example).
