<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: when implementing super resolution processing, an image is analyzed and a multi function peripheral automatically detects an appropriate resolution but even when super resolution processing is set in accordance with the result, the resolution of an output image is not always satisfactory for a user. <P>SOLUTION: In order to solve the problem, in an image processing apparatus, a document is scanned by disposing a plurality of sensors in such a way that a read position is shifted by less than one pixel between adjacent two sensors. The image is analyzed to determine a plurality of resolutions in image output, the number of required frames is determined from a plurality of frame image data items read by the sensors, and interpolation processing is performed on a partial region of the image using image data as many as the number of frames for resolution improvement and preview display. When the image data to be outputted are selected, interpolation processing is performed using frame image data as many as the number of frames required for outputting the selected image data, and an image of a higher resolution than that during reading is generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
