DIRECTIONAL COUPLER USING OPTICAL FIBER, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a directional coupler which uses two photonic crystal fibers and in which a hole of the photonic crystal does not disappear by heating using a manufacturing method which does not use a conventional fusing and stretching technique.

SOLUTION: The directional coupler is configured by providing removed faces by removing part of each side of the two photonic crystal fibers 11 having a structure in which a core periphery of a hollow is surrounded by the hole and having a structure of a polarization maintaining optical fiber, and by bonding the removed faces each other with an adhesive agent.
