PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply perform a process of a sales data processing apparatus which requires complex operations. SOLUTION: A printing unit 16 of an ECR 1 outputs code information to a medium, and a reading unit 18 reads the code information outputted to the medium. A CPU 10 decides whether the code information is to be output to the medium, based on a previously determined method. The CPU 10 produces the code information, when it is decided that the information is to be outputted.
