PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for producing an aluminum nitride-containing material. SOLUTION: The method comprises: a gas supply step of supplying nitrogen gas to molten aluminum 20; a powder introduction step of introducing aluminum powder 21 having a natural oxide film on the surface thereof into the molten aluminum 20 located in a nitrogen atmosphere; and a solidification step of solidifying the aluminum 20, where in the powder introduction step, the aluminum powder 21 is preferably introduced at a rate of 0.01-5 wt.%/min relative to the amount of the aluminum 20.
