PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an A/D converter which performs A/D conversion of difference between an image signal voltage and a reset voltage by a binary counter. SOLUTION: The reset voltage is compared with the first reference voltage, a first period spent until the first reference voltage changes from the first voltage to become equal to the reset voltage is measured by counting up clock signals by a binary counter 51 with a plurality of bits, the image signal voltage is compared with the second reference voltage after inverting signals of all the bits of the binary counter 51, a second period spent until the second reference voltage changes from the second voltage to become equal to the image signal voltage is measured by counting up the clock signals by the binary counter 51.
