There is disclosed a method of retrofitting a liquid crystal (LCD) monitor (50) to a gaming machine (10). The LCD monitor has a display (52). The gaming machine has a cabinet (12), a cavity (20) in the cabinet, a floor (22) of the cavity, a front cover (28, 30) which defines a display window (36, 40). A cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor (46) is disposed on the floor and has a display screen (48) which is located adjacent to the display window. The front cover is at least partially removable from the cabinet. The method includes removing the front cover from the front of the cabinet, providing an attachment bracket (74), releasably securing the attachment bracket to the front cover with the LCD monitor held captive between the bracket and front cover, and re-engaging the front cover with the front of the cabinet. The display of the LCD monitor is aligned with the display window so as to be visible from a position at the front of the gaming machine. |
