PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental test method capable of reproducing an approximately same phenomenon as frost formation generated in a natural world, and to provide an environmental testing device capable of forming frost on a test object. SOLUTION: The test object 20 is arranged in a test chamber 2 of this environmental testing device 1, and a surface temperature of the test object 20 in the test chamber 2 is lowered to about 0°C or lower, and then an absolute humidity at least in the vicinity of the test object 20 is raised, and steam in the air is phase-changed on the surface of the test object 20 and/or its vicinity, to thereby form frost on the surface of the test object 20.
