PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the case that an automatic focusing area to be displayed in a finder screen is at the center of the screen is not distinguished from the case that the automatic focusing area is at other position in a conventional photographing apparatus. SOLUTION: In the case that automatic focusing position display showing a screen position for automatically adjusting the focus is at the center of the screen and in the case that the automatic focusing position display is not at the center of the screen, display forms of the automatic focusing position display are differentiated by a display control means. Thus, a user clearly distinguishes the cases that the automatic focusing position display is at the center of the screen from the case that the automatic focusing position display is not at the center of the screen, and easily moves the automatic focusing position display at a position other than the center of the screen to the center of the screen.
