PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film with small optical anisotropy and excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: The optical film is composed of an aliphatic acid cellulose ester having an acetic acid group and a propionic acid group. In the optical film, the sum of the degree of substitution of acetic acid (DSac) and the degree of substitution of propionic acid (DSpr) of the aliphatic acid cellulose ester is in the range of 2.0 to 3.0.
