PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer that give excellent dispersibility of inorganic substance and excellent temporal stability of dispersion force when used in applications for detergents and pigment dispersants. SOLUTION: The (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer is obtained by polymerizing a monomer composition containing a (meth)acrylic acid-based monomer in the presence of a phosphorus atom-containing compound by a batch type. The polymerization is carried out by specifying the ratio of the total of the phosphorus atom-containing compound added to the reaction system to the total of the (meth)acrylic acid-based monomer added to the reaction system.
