PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic electronic component configured such that deterioration in insulation resistance is sufficiently suppressed. SOLUTION: The ceramic electronic component 1 includes a ceramic element body 10 in a rectangular parallelepiped shape and a pair of internal electrodes 11, 12. The pair of internal electrodes 11, 12 are arranged in the ceramic element body 10, and exposed from a first end face 10e or second end face 10f. The pair of internal electrodes 11, 12 are parallel to first and second principal surfaces 10a, 10b. The pair of internal electrodes 11, 12 are opposed to each other in a height direction. The electronic component 1 has different-phase regions formed at both ends 11b, 11c, and 12b, 12c of the internal electrodes 11, 12 in width directions. The occupation rate of the different-phase regions is≥85% in length-directional and height-directional cross sections of both the ends of the internal electrodes 11, 12 where the different-phase regions are formed.
