PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for cutting an optical film capable of suitably cutting the optical film, and also to provide a method for cutting the optical film. SOLUTION: The optical films F11, F21 and adhesive layers F14, F24 are cut at a position opposite to a convex curved face 100a without cutting mold release films F12, F22 while the mold release films F12, F22 are made to abut on the convex curved face 100a of a pedestal 100 during applying tension to the optical films F11, F21 sent from rolled webs R1, R2. Accordingly, the ends of the optical films F11, F21 that are cut are held to be set apart from each other after cutting by the tension applied to the optical films F11, F21, so that the ends of the optical films F11, F21 are prevented from causing deterioration of the respective ends of the optical films F11, F21 by contacting with each other and from generating foreign matters by chipped paste, and the optical films F11, F21 can be suitably cut.
