LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS AND HEAD MAINTENANCE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge apparatus providing a state that a cleaning liquid is spread over all the parts with which a functional liquid in a head can be brought into contact while suppressing an increase in the scale of the surroundings of a head cap of a suction unit. SOLUTION: The liquid discharge apparatus includes: a liquid discharge head having a nozzle substrate where a discharge nozzle discharging the liquid is formed; the head cap for sealing a nozzle forming surface on which the discharge nozzle of a liquid discharge head is formed; a suction means communicating with the head cap and for sucking a gas or the liquid in the head cap; a cleaning liquid supply meas for supplying the cleaning liquid into the head cap; and a liquid level detection means for detecting the liquid surface of the liquid in the head cap.
