The tool (9) has clamping surfaces (10, 14) exhibiting larger dimension than a cutting geometry (11) of an end of the tool, and a single, large chip-groove for removing chips. The end exhibits another cutting geometry (15) to immerse the end into soft materials at a front side. Another end of the tool exhibits an actual cutting geometry of the tool. A cylindrical clamping surface is selected for accommodation in a collet chuck.
