<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for separating and dehydrating sewage sludge, capable of reducing an installation space, having water passing capacity not easily affected by the concentration variation of sewage sludge, having a high screen residue recovery rate, and having an excellent sewage sludge dehydrating performance. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for separating and dehydrating sewage sludge is constituted so that a screw 2 is disposed inside a casing 1 provided with a cylindrical screen part 11 for discharging water from the peripheral surface and dehydration back pressure parts 12 and 13 for imparting a back pressure, and the sewage sludge containing the water introduced into the casing 1 is separated and dehydrated.
