<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral device allowing the peripheral device itself to be used without installing a control program for controlling the peripheral device in an information processor, and improved in convenience of a user using the peripheral device and the like, and to provide a method of controlling the same and an information processing system. <P>SOLUTION: This peripheral device includes: a storage part for storing a control program for controlling the operation of the peripheral device 110 (device body 111) in an information processor 100; a communication part for transmitting the control program to the information processor 100 from the storage part; and a control part for controlling the operation of the peripheral device 110 based on instruction information written in the storage part by the execution of the control program by the information processor 100.
